Educational Opportunities: Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers' Grant Seekers Programs

The Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers (ABAG)’s vision is that philanthropy will be an integral force in tackling Maryland’s most pressing problems through partnership with government, business and nonprofit decision makers. Though much of their programming is geared towards funders and grantmakers, they regularly host programs for grant seekers in the community, including the following events:

For Grantseekers: Meet and Understand Corporate Leadership

"For Grantseekers: Meet and Understand Corporate Leadership" is an opportunity for nonprofit organizations to better understand how corporate funders engage in corporate social responsibility in Maryland.

Nonprofit representatives are invited to hear from ABAG corporate members on what corporate social responsibility means to them and their organizations- and way they engage with the nonprofit sector through grants and leadership.

Our speakers will share information about their grant process civic leadership, partnership with the social sector and their perspectives on building lasting relationships with their grantees. They will provide insight into their funding decision making and tips for writing a stellar grant proposal. Structured as a panel discussion, attendees will have ample time to ask questions and engage directly with the speakers.

For Grantseekers: Foundation Stewardship

"For Grantseekers: Foundation Stewardship " is an opportunity for nonprofit organizations to better understand how foundations use evaluation and reporting, and the best ways to engage funders for long-term relationship building.

Please join your nonprofit colleagues for a conversation with Lara Hall, an experienced grantmaker in Baltimore. This conversation will be an overview of evaluation basics, how to engage with grantmakers throughout a grant cycle, and building long time partnerships with grantmakers. We will cover reporting on these types of grants: general support, endowment, capital, and project grants.
